2026 Expedition to Lake Titicaca

and the land of the Aymaru people

Dates To Be Announced.

Lake Titicaca

Ocean at the Top of the World.

Keeper of the Sacred Stories of the Andes.

Sacred Crucible of Life. Activator of Dreams.

This stunningly beautiful, ecologically rich region of the Andes is home to an amazing lake culture that is grounded deep in the mythic pathways of Pachamama. They know the waters of this vast lake hold access to many deep mysteries of life, and that we can connect to those mysteries, both on a collective level, all the way to personal vision level, when we "dream" with the lake, and allow her to carry us on a journey into her depths, to touch the inner sanctum of life.

Geologically, Lake Titicaca is part of an ancient ocean that over the eons has risen up, like the snow capped mountains all around her, to kiss the sky, and sparkle into the sunshine as those mountains reflect in her waters by day, and a full mythic story of stars shimmer above her at night.

Lake Titicaca, South America's largest lake, and the highest navigable lake in the world, sits in the middle of the most extensive high plateau in all of the Americas, commonly called the Altiplano. It is a hauntingly beautiful land of dancing shadows and windswept rock formations. Llama, Alpaca and Vicuña herds stream across this vast grassland, producing some of the finest animal fibers in the whole world. These fibers are skillfully woven by native artisans into timeless articles of clothing and bedding.

Bolivia and Peru share the lake politically, but the people of the lake are "one" people. It is considered its own hearth region and home to the ancient Aymaru culture, who call themselves mythically the luminous people of the dream eagle, who were conceived forth from the lightning impregnating the lake.

The Aymaru people have a language and culture that is far older than that of the Quechua people. Aymaru is the mother tongue of the Andes. It is the language that sacredly holds the first stories that sprang forth from the hearth fires of creation. It is like the primal seed of the medicine cultures of the Andes. Their traditional region in the Andes was never conquered by the Inca Empire. They held onto their solidarity and sovereignty, and as a result, were left alone and considered independent. This powerful independence lives forth strongly to this day, and inspires visitors to claim and celebrate their own inherent spiritual majesty.

The Aymaru lake culture is richly preserved as a living expression that greets you warmly.

When you stay in people's homes on the lake, they come and tuck you in at night, and sing you a sleeping lullaby that almost sounds like the wind blowing in the lake reeds. From there, you are gently, yet profoundly, transported into the heart of your inner dream world.

Legend and Lore speak to Lake Titicaca being a sacred portal that allows you to access your most potent dreams, and gather the resources and state of being to manifest them into your life pathway. Within the deep waters of Lake Titicaca exists a mythical 'city of light'. As you sleep at night, the luminous energy of that magical city is there to guide you in your dreams.

The ancient mythic storyteller medicine people of the lake say that Lake Titicaca will mirror a uniquely personal and very sacred primordial 'lake of light' that lives inside each of us. And as you journey within the lake, it will whisper more deeply awake a fertile connection within yourself to that space of profound consciousness, and boldly awaken the dreamer medicine that you so uniquely carry.

Be welcomed by the 'Mama' energy of the lake culture.

Allow your heart to hear the ancient stories of your humanity.

An ancient ceremonial space

where the death that stalks a person from living fully is released,

and life is birthed anew into a spirit of fresh curiosity…

This is a beautiful and secluded part of Lake Titicaca where the rich and ancient traditions of the culture are easily connected to. The vicuñas run wild in the wind here, and fishermen row across the water in their colorful handcrafted boats dancing on the waves. Smiling families will greet you with ease as they welcome you to their homes and schools to experience traditional food and games, and hear timeless stories and songs.

Legend speaks of hiking to the ancient sacred hilltop stone circles on these islands, opening up in prayer, and welcoming the mythical 'city of light' to guide you in your dreams.

as colorful sailboats glide across the sun-drenched lake, vicuñas run silently in the shadows, the delicious smell of fish, potatoes and wild-crafted herbs being cooked in a natural oven made of pieces of hot soil is inhaled, and the tall range of snow capped Andean mountains reflect in the deep golden blue waters surface

Dear Voyager,

Our Lago de Luz expeditions are intimate trips among friends.  We keep the level of participants reduced to a small number so as to journey with a soft footprint on the land and water. And so we can truly connect with the dreaming that called out, beckoning us to come.

The financial resources you are investing in your travel, as well as your deep appreciation and friendship, goes straight to benefit the people whose home you will be visiting.

Our reciprocity for all the services and support it takes to host us in Peru, is going towards building a better Peru - in a manner that is authored by indigenous Peruvians themselves, rather than someone from the outside who does not have the real wisdom to make the best choices, nor has to live with the consequences from decisions that are being made.

If you are considering such a unique and profound opportunity, I'll be honored to be in this expansive medicine with you.  Please reach out with the form below to inquire and claim a space for yourself on this sacred expedition.

In warmest of love & light,

Stephen
